Current efforts to contain the Coronavirus outbreak mean many families are finding themselves at home together for an extended period, including during the school day. Cornerstone is here to serve our families and recognizes the special challenges posed by this major disruption and change in our routines while living together in close quarters. We are so grateful for the gift of technology that has allowed many schools to continue teaching students in this time. But, as with any tool, there is the potential for abuse and danger. As parents and guardians we need to be vigilant of the predatory nature of the internet and take necessary precautions against it. Here are some resources to help:

VLACS – New Hampshire’s own virtual public charter school. It’s free to any New Hampshire resident and is an online virtual school that provides middle school, high school, and adult students with the freedom to learn anywhere, anytime.

National Geographic Kids– Videos, articles, books, and educational games and experiments for kids covering a variety of topics. 

Learn Everywhere Facebook Group: HSLDA, a homeschooling advocacy organization and yes. every kid. have partnered to create this Facebook group with lots of great tips and encouragement.

Virtual Field Trips– Educational and fun! No need to leave the house. 

Scholastic Kids– Day-by-day projects to keep kids reading, thinking, and growing.
