We are thrilled to announce that Joseph Backholm, a Senior Fellow for Biblical Worldview and Strategic Engagement at Family Research Council, will be the keynote speaker at our 25th Anniversary Gala on October 28, 2025!
Throughout his career, Mr. Backholm has served in legal counsel and leadership roles for a variety of reputable policy institutes, including the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, Family Policy Institute of Washington, and now the Family Research Council. In these roles, he has worked as a director and president, legislative attorney, educational content creator, and electoral operations manager.
His skill to produce educational videos that discuss culture and values from a Christian perspective is a highlight of Joseph’s work. In his popular YouTube series, Joseph interviews students as a self-identified “6’5 Chinese Woman” to help open discussion on the logic of gender identity ideology. Not only does Joseph talk about these issues, he also actively fights them, leading many ballot initiatives on gender privacy, religious freedom, the value of life, parental rights, and marriage.
Additionally, he is a talented writer and currently publishes opinion and educational pieces for the Family Research Council. In one article he shared this insight:
“progressivism creates a world where symbolism is valued over substance, sentiment over truth, and all the observers who know better have learned to keep their mouths shut to prove what good and decent people they are.”
