MANCHESTER, NH – With results from the US Senate race still unclear, one thing was clearly obvious from last night’s results: Independent and Republican primary voters want conservative and principled people representing them in Washington and Concord.

While spending millions on blanketing the airwaves over the past year, US Senate candidate, Bill Binnie, was unable to overcome Cornerstone Action’s radio and tv ads which labeled him “shockingly liberal.” Binnie only ended up garnering 14% of the vote, while the two most conservative candidates in the race, Kelly Ayotte and Ovide Lamontagne are pulling over 70% of the primary vote combined.

In addition, Cornerstone’s two backed state senate candidates, Jim Luther in District 12 and Jim Forsythe in District 4 each won their respective primaries.

Commenting on last evening’s results was Cornerstone Action Director, Kevin Smith:

“Last night was a great evening for conservative values and principles in New Hampshire. Both Independents and Republicans made it clear that they want leaders in Washington and Concord who are not only fiscal conservatives, but represent traditional values as well. I have no doubt that this November, the voters will also reject the far-left liberal policies of the current leaders in Concord and Washington.”

Smith also noted that while Cornerstone-backed Jennifer Horn lost her race to Charlie Bass in the second congressional district, Bass only garnered 43% of the total vote, while conservatives Horn and Bob Guida represented 52% of the total vote. Regarding the outcome of that race, Smith added:

“Hopefully, Charlie Bass understands now that the primary voters in his district want a conservative leader representing the second CD; someone who espouses the principles of less spending, less government, and traditional values.”
