Legislative Update: Help Fight the Next Attempt to Repeal the Fetal Life Protection Act!

This past week the NH Senate Republicans defeated an attempt to repeal New Hampshire’s new pro-life law by voting to adopt an amendment to SB 399 which transformed the bill from an outright repeal of the Fetal Life Protection act into a clarification of the law’s ultrasound requirement. The strong showing of support from our pro-life community was a compelling factor in strengthening lawmakers’ resolve to stand firm.

But this was just one of multiple bills that have been introduced with the same aim. The next bill aimed at destroying the law is scheduled to have a public hearing this week. HB 1673-FN, Relative to women’s health privacy and repealing the Fetal Life Protection Act, is the House version of SB 399. If passed, it would dispose of the Fetal Life Protection Act completely. Let’s build on our momentum to ensure this bill is stopped dead in its tracks. Read on to see what you can do to prevent the passage of this extreme bill.

WHEN: This Thursday, February 10 at 1 pm in the State House, Representatives Hall, HB 1673 will have a public hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.

CORNERSTONE POSITION: Cornerstone OPPOSES this bill.

WHY: This bill, if passed, would return New Hampshire to a state that allows abortion up to birth for any reason.
