Cornerstone Comments on House Republicans’ ‘Priority’ List

Today, the House Republican Leadership outlined their priorities for the for the 2011-12 session. Highlights of these priorities were first reported yesterday in an Associated Press report.

Commenting on the House Republicans’ agenda, was Cornerstone Action Executive Director, Kevin Smith:

“We applaud the Republican leadership making a balanced budget, along with the related financial issues including lowering taxes and cutting wasteful spending their top priorities for this upcoming session. I am confident they will also take up a few key social issues, such as restoring the parental notification law and repealing gay marriage at the appropriate time (whether this year or next). We look forward to working with them and some moderate Democrats in seeing that these measures are passed when they are taken up.”
