Cornerstone commends NH House for passing responsible balanced budget

This week, the NH House passed the House version of the budget, HB1 and HB2.

Commenting on the passage of the budget bills was Cornerstone Director, Kevin Smith:

“We commend the House for passing one of the most fiscally prudent budgets this state has seen in years.  Last November, the taxpayers spoke with a very loud and clear voice: they demanded that deficit spending come to an end – and this week, it has.  The new majority in Concord replaced previous budgets known for their smoke and mirror revenue estimates with one that is incredibly sober and honest.  While no one said the cuts were going to be easy, Speaker O’Brien and the House majority should be applauded for their bold leadership and keeping their word to the voters.”
