The following article was originally posted in the NH Journal, January 14, 2021 At least on paper, Governor Chris Sununu is currently one of the most powerful executives in the United States. In litigation against the Governor’s COVID-19 orders, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office has successfully argued that—in a time of emergency—Sununu has the power to suspend civil liberties, including fundamental constitutional rights.

Legislative Update January 11th 2021
Hearings To Be Scheduled Soon on More Than 800 Bills in House and Senate New Hampshire House and Senate committees will meet next week via Zoom conferences to take up their lengthy agenda for 2021. Hearings on hundreds of bills will be scheduled over the next few weeks. While the hearings will be held remotely, the committees will still be taking testimony from the public. Cornerstone
