Cornerstone Commends NH Senate for Defeating a 67% Increase in Taxes

May 23, 2013
(Concord, NH) Today the NH Senate voted with New Hampshire families in mind and voted 18-6 to indefinitely postpone HB617, the gas tax which would increase by 67% if passed.
“I am thrilled that the NH Senate recognized the burden that this 67% increase would have on our families here in the Granite State who are already tightening their budgets,” said Pratte.  “By voting to defeat the gas tax, the NH Senate realized that it is wrong to balance our state budget on the backs of hard-working families.”
