CONCORD, NH – Today, CPR–Action Executive Director, Kevin Smith, joined hundreds of New Hampshire citizens in a rally at the Statehouse to express Cornerstone’s support for HCR6, a resolution affirming states’ rights based on Jeffersonian Principals.
Speaking to those in attendance at the rally, Mr. Smith stated, “As a family policy organization, we believe that our state constitution is one of the fundamental documents which impact our families at the most foundational level. It is unfortunate, however, that we continue to see instances where the federal government attempts to overstep its Constitutionally allowed powers, by constraining the natural rights of New Hampshire’s citizens, as is clearly delineated in the state constitution.
Smith added, “We should work with our State’s unique “citizens legislature” to protect the culture of our state, and not be forced into the mold of one federal ‘superstate’. Thus, we implore the House to overturn the Committee Report today and pass HCR6.”
