Manchester, NH – On February 4, 2011, Campaigns & Elections magazine held the third annual Reed Awards Dinner in Washington, DC.  Political consultants and public affairs executives were recognized for their outstanding work and creativity in the 2010 mid-term elections.  Among the award winners was Schubert Flint Public Affairs, which produced Cornerstone’s election ad, “Ninety Days.”  The TV ad won in the category of TV – Republican Independent Expenditure and Issue Advocacy.  Schubert Flint Public Affairs, who created and wrote the ad, is a Sacramento-based public affairs firm that works in states across the country. The ad was shot and edited locally by The Troupe of Windham, NH, and produced by Criswell & Associates of San Francisco, California.

Commenting on this news was Cornerstone Action director, Kevin Smith:

“I congratulate Schubert Flint Public Affairs, The Troupe and the entire production team for this well deserved recognition.  Through their work, Cornerstone was able to educate a large audience to the severe problems with the now infamous SB500 law passed in 2009.  I tip my hat to them for producing such an effective and powerful ad.  Of course, none of it would have been possible if it weren’t for the courage of Michael and Jacci Gilmore who gave  voice to those victims who have been adversely effected since SB500 became law.”

The SB500 law, which allows for the early release of violent and sexual offenders, was a central issue in last year’s gubernatorial race and continues to be an issue of significance in this year’s legislative session.  SB52, among others, has already been filed in the legislature this year as a means to “fix” the law passed in 2009.
