Operationalized a statistically matched dataset between the IRS Public Use File and the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey. The dataset has also been linked with output generated by the micro-simulation model of theU.S.federal income tax code.  The purpose of the dataset is to provide demographic profiles ofU.S.taxpayers.  The resulting matched dataset contains over 530,000 records and over 900 variables with data access and storage via SPSS.

 CHIEF ECONOMIST/FORECASTER, Office of Management and Budget, Department of Medical Assistance Services (Virginia’s Medicaid Agency–DMAS),

Commonwealth of Virginia Government,Richmond,VA, December 2000 to February 2002.  DMAS has the largest agency budget in the Commonwealth (approximately $4 billion).  Major responsibility was the development and maintenance of the agency’s budget forecasting program.  Charged with the responsibility of rebuilding the agency’s time series models (of which there are 70 models). The time series models coupled with regression models are used to forecast the Medicaid agency’s future budget needs.

Prepared cost estimates and conducted fiscal impact analysis in response to ad hoc requests from the Governor’s Office, the Virginia General Assembly Legislature and various Commonwealth agencies.

ECONOMIST, Bureau of Economic Analysis, International Division, Washington, D.C., 1994 to 1997. Assisted senior economists in the preparation of estimates forU.S. balance of payments accounts.  Assisted in revising and updating methodology for various accounts.

ASSISTANT TO THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF EAST ASIA AND PACIFIC, George Mason University Cooperative Education Placement, January 10, 1994 until graduation in May 1994.  International Trade Administration, United States Foreign and Commercial Service’s Office of International Operations,Washington,D.C. Assisted the Regional Director in serving the needs of the Commercial Service Officers in theEast Asia region of the world.  A primary responsibility of this position was the maintenance of a financial budget for more than twenty overseas posts.

SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY (DAS) FOR INVESTIGATIONS, George Mason Cooperative Education Placement, January 1993 to July 1993.  International Trade Administration, Import Administration’s Office of Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Investigations,Washington,D.C. Served as the DAS’s second pair of eyes and ears at meetings, surveyed all documents coming into the office to control the DAS’s reading load, conveyed instructions to the staff in lieu of the DAS, and managed Congressional correspondence.
